                      Day 2

As he stepped out of the door he felt the heat and all he could smell was the stench of rotting flesh and death hanging in the air. He had to gag has his first few breaths made him want to puke. There were no signs of life in any of the houses he could see. He also noticed how quite it was; something was missing he thought, then it hit him where were all of the helicopters from last night? His eyes searched the sky but he could not see any. He ran to his pick-up got in fired the engine up and backed out of the driveway, cracking the windows and turning the radio off so he could hear. He slowly drove down the road he turned left onto Hamilton everything looked ok here. He turned left onto Dixon and there seem to be nothing out of the ordinary here either. Turning right on Hearn when he came to the stop sign at Hearn and Parkway here the whole world changed.

There were signs of chaos every where cars had run into houses. He had to drive up onto a yard to avoid one serious car wreck that was blocking the entire road. There were several dead parts of bodies laying in some of the yards and in the road. Some houses were still burning while others were just smoldering small plumes of smoke rising into the morning sky there was no sign of the fire department was evident. He saw a sign hanging from a second story window of one house “ please send help” A closer look at the house revealed the front door was hanging by one hinge and what

What Mac saw was something out of a horror movie there were parts of humans lying in pools of dried blood. Abandoned or wrecked vehicles made driving almost impossible. Zombies roamed around some of them gnawing on human bones. Mac saw one accident between two cars were one drivers did not get out in time and burned to death. The smell of burned flesh made him gag what was even more sickening was the body was being eaten by zombies. Mac realized right away that his decision to leave was going to be much harder than he first though. He also realized the his truck while providing a safe environment was becoming a hazard as it seemed to attract zombies. He could move safer without the truck, but the trip would take much longer. He could travel faster with it and he would not have to carry all of his supplies in a backpack, but the trip would be much more dangerous as it would attract zombies and god knew who or what else as well. He decided to ditch the truck in town and get a vehicle when he was out on the road. Mac sped away from the zombies as much as the abandoned vehicles would allow and ditched the truck at Webb’s gun store.
